Golden Gaytime Pop up

Golden Gaytime, that quintessential summer treat, has followed the bandwagon set by Magnum (owned by the same company so it's hardly surprising) and developed a pop-up bar where you can order special crumbs for the good old caramel-flavoured ice-cream.

There are five flavours in total, costing $6 each. The process is that special, non-crumbed gaytimes are opened, dipped into ice-magic-like chocolate coating, while your chosen special topping is placed in a small box for the gaytime ice-cream to be dipped into.

In the order of the most exciting flavours to the least (in my opinion), you can choose from

  1. Crumb Choc Millionaire: smashed potato chips, coconut shreds, 100s & 1000s and glitter mixed with chocolate crumb
  2. Unicorn breath: musk sticks, strawberry hard cancy, popping candy, glitter and vanilla crumb
  3. Golden Chief's Salty Gaytime: pretzel bits and vanilla crumb with a salted caramel drizzle
  4. Chocopalooza: lolly bananas, 100s & 1000s and chocolate crumb
  5. The OG-G: the original Gaytime, but with more of its original vanilla crumb.

Chocapalooza
To be 100% honest, though the ice-cream was as delicious as you would expect from an ampted-up Gaytime (I particularly enjoyed the crispy ice-magic chocolate coating, but then again I could just go and buy a bottle of ice-magic), the joy of these lie more in the novelty factor than in overwhelming deliciousness. So then, taking into account the price tag and the queue, it becomes a question of - worth it?
